The Grocery Program
Our Grocery Program provides fresh groceries to the people of West Oakland on a bi-monthly basis. This program’s goal is to serve the people, while also building community and showing people that there’s an alternative to this capitalistic state that forces you to think that everything must be bought.
In 2024, we deepened our approach. In addition to our door-to-door efforts, we introduced a market choice model, giving families greater autonomy over their food. Since 2021, our Grocery Program has provided more than 6,000 bags of fresh, culturally relevant groceries to families in West Oakland— And as of September 2025, we are currently serving over 350 households on a bi-weekly basis.
Looking ahead, we’ll continue to grow alongside our community; strengthening our models and building pathways that move us closer to true food sovereignty in West Oakland and beyond.
